Safety plates, also commonly known as nail plates, are metal brackets used to protect wiring and piping that is passing through a stud. In most building codes, one is required to use safety or nail plates when the edge of a hole in a stud is less than 1-1/2 in from the edge of the stud. Our safety or nail plates come with self-nailing flanges that allow the installer to pound them in where necessary, with out fumbling around with nails. We offer a wide variety in gauge thickness, width and length with our safety or nail plates, to cover what ever your local building code may require.
