Plastic-lined nipple is ideal for connecting two dissimilar pipe and fitting materials, such as red brass or bronze, with black and galvanized steel or malleable iron. No recommended for connection with stainless steel fittings or pipe designed to reduce galvanic and stray current corrosion by isolating the dissimilar connection from the media flow. Durable, welded SCH 40 nipple and PEX plastic liner are permanently bonded together. The PEX liner's edge extends onto the front edge of the nipples ends, assuring complete isolation from the water at the connection.
